Jahrhunderts. Im ersten Teil wird hierzu auf die antiken Quellen sowie die mittelalterlichen und frhneuzeitlichen berlieferungen eingegangen. Der Hauptteil der Arbeit setzt sich u.a. mit den Fragen auseinander, welche Quellen die Autoren des 16. und 17. Jahrhunderts nutzten und welcher Art von Interpretation sie folgten oder inwiefern sie den Stoff neu deuteten. Bemerkenswert ist vor allem die signifikante Verstrkung der Beschftigung mit Lucretia in der ersten Hlfte des 16. Jahrhunderts. Zu nennen sind hier insbesondere die LucretiaTragdien von Hans Sachs und Heinrich Bullinger, deren literarische Gestaltung ausfhrlich analysiert wird.
