Denn die neue Herausforderung, vor der die Demokratie heute steht, macht es notwendig, ber die Erweiterung der Kriterien von Teilhabe und Ausschluss nachzudenken. Anhand fallbezogener Interviews mit Jugendlichen arbeitet Michael Kaiser heraus, dass Erwerbsarbeit und soziale Rechte aufeinander verweisen und eng miteinander verknpft sind. Vor dem Hintergrund der Umbrche in der Erwerbsarbeit werden zwar Betroffenen die Brgerrechte nicht entzogen, aber sie verlieren an Substanz. Dabei liefert die Sozialethik des Capabilities approach nach Martha Nussbaum eine schlssige Begrndung fr ein unbedingtes Recht auf Grundversorgung. Diese Normbegrndung erhlt ihre Plausibilitt letztlich durch den grundlegenden anthropologischen Bezug, auf dessen Fundament eine allgemeine Theorie des Guten entwickelt wird.
