Diese Forschungslcke soll mit Hilfe der vorliegenden Arbeit insbesondere am Beispiel der Groen Pest von London im Jahre 1665 geschlossen werden. Der mgliche Zusammenhang zwischen den Wohnverhltnissen der Londoner Bevlkerung im 17. Jahrhundert und der Pestmortalitt whrend der Groen Pest soll nicht nur mit Hilfe umfangreicher quantitativer Analysen hergestellt werden, sondern vor allem auch durch Hinzunahme detaillierter qualitativer Fallstudien einzelner Beispielgemeinden. Dabei soll besonders auf die unterschiedlichen Lebensbedingungen in Abhngigkeit vom Wohlstandsniveau der Menschen eingegangen und die Frage beantwortet werden, ob der sozialkonomische Status einer Gemeinde und ihrer Bewohner Einfluss auf die Peststerblichkeit der in diesem Viertel lebenden Menschen hatte und ob dies in deren unterschiedlichen Wohnverhltnissen begrndet lag. Until now hardly any scientific analysis has been carried out to investigate the possible relationship between people's living conditions and the increased danger of infection by the plague. In order to close this research gap, the author of this thesis is going to specifically focus on 17th century London and pest mortality during the Great Plague of 1665. In this context, the not only extensive quantative analysis, but also a number of detailed qualitative case studies on various London parishes will be carried out. Thereby, the author is going to focus particularly on the living conditions in relation to affluency levels in the parishes and investigates their possible influence on pest mortality.
