Die Zeit der nach sprachlicher und nationaler Homogenitt strebenden Nationen ist in den postindustriellen Dienstleistungsgesellschaften vorbei. Es ist ein unabnderliches Faktum, dass mehrere Nationen und Kulturen in einer Gesellschaft zusammen leben und multikulturelle Begegnungen zum Alltag gehren. Das Zusammenwachsen von Europa, der Globalisierungsprozess und wachsende Flchtlingsstrme verlangen nach neuen Ideen und Strategien des toleranten, offenen und friedlichen Umgangs miteinander. Das Interkulturelle Lernen soll Strategien und Wege finden, um die 'Gleichheit der Verschiedenheit' anzuerkennen und in diesem Sinne eine Gesellschaft zu schaffen, in der Verschiedenheit Bereicherung und nicht Handicap ist. So weit der Anspruch: Die Wirklichkeit wird aber von einer Dualisierung des Prozesses transkultureller Wanderungen in 'Experten bzw. Elitemigration' einerseits und 'Elendsmigration' andererseits bestimmt. Die Migrationspolitik differenziert zwischen positiven Anreizen fr die Ersteren und negativen Sanktionen fr die Letzteren. Es existieren tatschlich verschiedene Formen und Methoden Interkulturellen Lernens, je nachdem, ob man, vereinfacht und plakativ gesagt, eine Interkulturelle oder eine Multikulturelle Schule besucht. Die erste vermittelt Sprachkenntnisse und Handlungsfhigkeit fr die globalisierte Welt, die andere, bei gnstigem Verlauf, garantiert eine berufliche und soziale Integration im Aufnahmeland. Obwohl es sich in beiden Fllen um Interkulturelles Lernen handelt, im Sinne der reifen Begegnung mit einer anderen Kultur, so lsst sich der Riss nicht bersehen, der mglicherweise weniger mit Verschiedenheit der Sprachen und Sitten zu tun hat als eine Auseinandersetzung des Traditionellen mit der Moderne i
