Neben Batman bzw. Bruce Wayne werden die unterschiedlichsten Typen von Helden in ihren Beweggrnden und Taten dargestellt. Der Held ist in Christopher Nolans Film sowohl Hilfe als auch Problem fr die Gesellschaft. Diese ist stndig gezwungen, sich zu ihrem Helden neu zu positionieren. Dabei werden sowohl einige Einzelpersonen als auch die Gesamtgesellschaft in ihren Standpunkten und Entwicklungen untersucht. In der Betrachtung wird zudem Bezug genommen auf auerfilmische, kontemporre politische und gesellschaftliche Diskussionen, wie sie unter dem Eindruck der terroristischen Bedrohung des 21. Jahrhunderts vorherrschen.
