Der Grund dafUr ist ein zweifacher, namlich einer seits die Frage, ob das Bindegewebe als Trager rheumatologischer Erkrankungen auch in anderen Organen als dem Bewegungsapparat Krankheitsmanifestationen aufweisen kann und andererseits urn die Frage, inwiefern die teils "aggressive" me dikamentose Therapie rheumatischer Krankheiten Nebenwirkungen an verschieden sten Organen nach sich ziehen kann. Letzteres vor allem, wenn man bedenkt, wie haufig langdauernde Medikationen beim Rheumatiker verordnet werden mtissen. Beispiele dafUr lassen sich viele aufzahlen: die Mitbeteiligung des lymphatischen Systems am immunologischen Geschehen entziindlichrheumatischer Erkrankungen, die Beeinflussung des hlimatopoetischen Systems, die Mitbeteiligung der Lunge oder des Nervensystems und die Schlidigungen der Niere unter Goldmedikationen, die Hautmanifestationen unter bestimmten Medikamenten und andere mehr. Mein ehemaliger Oberarzt, Dr. R. Rau, hat sich die Mtihe genommen, die Leber als zentrales Objekt seiner Arbeit auszuwahlen und die obgenannte doppelte Fra gestellung abzukl1iren versucht. Weil dariiber noch sehr wenig bekannt ist, mu1l>te auch die altere Literatur durchgesehen und gesichtet werden, erganzt durch eigene Untersuchungen unter Einbezug neuerer funktioneller Leberuntersuchungen und morphologischer Befunde aus Leberbiopsien bei Rheumatikern. Herrn Rau ist es gelungen, einen tlberblick tiber den heutigen Stand des Wissens zu bekommen."
