Product Description Am 1. April 1997 wurde die Deregulierung des Luftverkehrsmarktes in der Europischen Union formaljuristisch abgeschlossen. Seit diesem Zeitpunkt drfen die in der EU sowie in Island und Norwegen zertifizierten Fluggesellschaften jede Flugstrecke innerhalb der Union, einschlielich smtlicher Inlandsstrecken, ohne Beschrnkungen bedienen. Damit endete ein mehrstufiger Liberalisierungsprozess, der in den achtziger Jahren begonnen hatte. Diese Arbeit untersucht empirisch mittels einer breiten Datenbasis die konomischen Wohlfahrtseffekte des Liberalisierungsprozesses fr die Konsumenten und geht der Frage nach, ob die Luftverkehrsmrkte in der EU nach ihrer Liberalisierung wie oft vermutet ein Beispiel fr bestreitbare Mrkte sind. About the Author Der Autor: Andreas Arndt wurde 1974 in Kiel geboren. Von 1995 bis 2000 studierte er Volkswirtschaftslehre an der Universitt Hamburg. Nach seinem Diplom arbeitete er als Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Institut fr Weltwirtschaft und Internationales Management (IWIM) an der Universitt Bremen. Den Schwerpunkt seiner Ttigkeit bildete die Verkehrswissenschaft mit besonderem Bezug zur Luftfahrt.
