Kette hier nun zwei Pflanzen vor, die gut auf Sand wachsen und gedeihen: zum einen die Lupine, zum anderen die Serradella. Kette fhrt ein in Art und Charakter der beiden Pflanzen, bevor er sich ihrem Anbau, ihrer Dngung und Pflege sowie ihrer Verarbeitung widmet. Der Anbau von Lupine und Serradella wird einem Sandgutbesitzer vielleicht nicht zu groem Reichtum verhelfen, doch gelingt es Kette, den schlechten Ruf des Sandbodens zu retten und neue Nutzungsmglichkeiten aufzuzeigen.
