Von Gesellschaft und Politik wird hufig eine neue Ethik in der MenschNutztierBeziehung gefordert. Der modernen Landwirtschaft wird dabei oft vorgeworfen, die Nutztiere als reine Produktionsmittel anzusehen. Das Verhltnis zwischen Mensch und Tier sei allein von konomischen Interessen bestimmt. Diese Anklage rckt das ambivalente Verhltnis zwischen Landwirt und Nutztier in den Mittelpunkt: Einerseits ist das Tier ein Wertgegenstand, andererseits ein lebendes Individuum mit eigenen Verhaltensmustern und Bedrfnissen, dem eine DuEvidenz zugestanden werden kann. In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird daher einerseits das Konstrukt MenschNutztierBeziehung in allen seinen Facetten abgebildet. Weiterhin wird geklrt, wie sich die MenschNutztierBeziehung in modernen Tierhaltungen tatschlich darstellt und welchen Einflssen sie unterliegt. Dabei zeigt sich, dass die Beziehung zwischen Mensch und Nutztier nicht nur aus tierschtzerischer und ethischer Sicht interessant, sondern auch aus der konomischen Perspektive wichtig ist. Sie ist folglich als bedeutender Qualittsfaktor in der Nutztierhaltung anzusehen.
