Um einen Einblick in die kabbalistischen Gedankengnge der hier untersuchten sptmittelalterlichen und frhneuzeitlichen Mystiker und Philosophen annhernd nachvollziehen zu knnen, ist es zunchst notwendig, einen berblick ber den mythologischen Ursprung und den frhen Verbreitungsweg der Kabbala in Europa zu erhalten. Die dabei grundlegenden urreligisen Ursprnge aus dem gyptischorientalischen Kulturraum sind hierbei die elementare Basis der Mythen, welche u.a. zur Herausbildung der jdischen Geheimlehre fhrten. In Anbetracht der Komplexitt dieses Themengebietes und des fr den Inhalt des Seminars relevanten Zeitraums des mittelalterlichneuzeitlichen bergangs, kann dieser frhgeschichtliche Bereich jedoch nur zum besseren Verstndnis spterer Vorgnge angeschnitten werden. Dem methodischen Vorgehen dieser Arbeit liegt zunchst ein begriffsgeschichtlicher Ansatz zugrunde. Bezglich der zeitlichen Eingrenzung des bearbeiteten Bereiches erstreckt sich der Zeitraum, aus klrendem Anla und an Beispielen rckblickend, bis in die erwhnte kulturellreligise Frhgeschichte. Der Untersuchungsschwerpunkt liegt jedoch auf dem Bereich der christlicheuropischen Kabbala und in diesem Zusammenhang auf der (frh)neuzeitlichen Form ihrer Ausdeutung. Anhand des Lebens und der Werke von Pico de la Mirandola, Johannes Reuchlin und Jakob Bhme werden beispielhaft deren Bezge auf die kabbalistische Grundidee dargestellt.
