Die Nutria ist ein semiaquatisches Sugetier, das ursprnglich aus Sdamerika stammt. Durch Pelztierzucht wurde sie in der Vergangenheit in viele Lnder, inklusive Deutschland, eingefhrt. Durch unkontrollierte Freilassungen und Fluchten gelangten immer wieder Tiere in die Wildnis und konnten in vielen Lndern eigenstndige Populationen grnden. Durch ihre gute Anpassungsfhigkeit gelang es der Nutria sich neben dem Bisam und dem Biber in Deutschland und auch in anderen Lndern zu etablieren. Durch ihre opportunistische Ernhrungsweise ist die Nutria in der Lage sich auch in fr sie suboptimalen Gebieten anzusiedeln. Durch die jahrelange Zucht wurden fast ausschlielich die besonders starken, berlebensfhigen und robusten Tiere gezchtet, so dass eine erfolgreiche Ausbreitung gefrdert wird. In Deutschland gelang es der Nutria, sich innerhalb weniger Dekaden im nahezu gesamten Bundesgebiet auszubreiten. Durch eine intensive Literaturrecherche wird in dieser Untersuchung die aktuelle Datenlage zur kologie, zur Verbreitung, zu den Schden und zu Kontrollmanahmen der Nutria dargestellt und erlutert.
