Die Kontrolle der Regierung ist eine der wichtigsten Aufgaben des Parlamentes im parlamentarischen Regierungssystem. In den Untersuchungen der parlamentarischen Kontrolle in Deutschland fehlt jedoch die Verknpfung mit theoretischen Anstzen, so dass die deskriptive Forschung dominiert. Das Ziel der vorliegenden Arbeit ist es, einen Beitrag zur theoriegeleiteten Analyse der parlamentarischen Kontrolle zu leisten. Deshalb werden die Kontrollprozesse im rheinlandpflzischen Landtag nicht nur beschrieben sondern auch mit Hilfe der Neuen Institutionenkonomik erklrt, um auf dieser Grundlage Vorschlge zur Strkung der parlamentarischen Kontrolle zu erarbeiten. Damit gelingt eine theoretische Fundierung und Neustrukturierung der empirischen Aspekte der parlamentarischen Kontrolle, die sich von ad hocErklrungen abhebt und die Grundlage fr eine fundierte Politikberatung darstellt. Der Autor hat fnf Jahre als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter in einer Regierungsfraktion im rheinlandpflzischen Landtag gearbeitet und verfgt daher ber sehr przises Insiderwissen.
