English summary: This volume comprises detailed commented protocols of the Evangelical Church of Germany (EKD) council meetings in 1952. The debates focused on the orientation by West Germany towards the West and other internal church discussions. German description: Die Arbeit des Rates der EKD im Jahr 1952 stand im Schatten des Generalvertrages der Bundesrepublik mit den westlichen Besatzungsmachten. Die scharfe Debatte um dieses Abkommen stellte die EKD vor eine Zerreiaprobe, ohne dass es allerdings zu der allseits befurchteten Spaltung zwischen Gegnern und Befurwortern der Westorientierung gekommen ware. Nach Abschluss des Generalvertrages im Mai 1952 und den damit verbundenen wachsenden Repressionen der DDR gegen kirchliche Amtstrager und Privatpersonen traten die Debatten um die auaenpolitische Orientierung der Bundesrepublik in den Hintergrund. In den sieben ausfuhrlich kommentierten und durch Dokumente erganzten Protokollen der Ratssitzungen wird der pragmatische Umgang des Rates mit der neuen deutschlandpolitischen Situation dokumentiert.
