Sie reichen weit ber den Sprachgebrauch hinaus. Die Entstehung eines Gemeinschaftsgefhls, das dem Fan Halt und Geborgenheit vermittelt, da er sich als Teil eines greren Ganzen empfindet. Das Verbinden von Fuball mit einer Hoffnung fr eine ganze Nation, wie beim Wunder von Bern, oder beim Einzelnen, der im Ineinander von Leistung und Glck Hoffnung fr seinen Alltag versprt, da er im Fuball ein Spiegelbild fr den eigenen Lebenskampf erfhrt. Die Identifikation mit dem Geschehen auf dem Platz und mit bestimmten Akteuren, ermglicht es dem Fan seine Wirklichkeit zu berschreiten, Probleme zu vergessen und an der Strke seiner Helden teilzuhaben, beziehungsweise sie auf sich zu assoziieren, um selbst Sieger zu sein, usw. Doch zunchst befasst sich diese Arbeit mit den Wurzeln des Fuballspiels, dem Verhltnis zwischen Kirche und Sport, wobei es unter anderem um die dem Sport immanente Ethik geht. Was macht Fuball so faszinierend und woher stammt die Verbindung von Kult und Sport, dies und vieles mehr sind weitere Fragen auf die eingegangen wird. Am Ende folgt dann der Schulbezug, wobei untersucht werden soll, in wie fern die gewonnenen Erkenntnisse fr die Schule von Bedeutung sein knnen und wie man sie aufbereiten knnte.
