Diplomarbeit aus dem Jahr 2007 im Fachbereich Politik Internationale Politik Region: Sonstige Staaten, Note: 1,3, Universitt Hamburg (fr Politische Wissenschaft), Veranstaltung: Diplomprfung, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die vorliegende Arbeit analysiert die Frage, ob Afrika, als vergleichsweise unbedeutender Akteur des internationalen Systems signifikant Einfluss auf den Gestaltungsprozess der Vereinten Nationen nehmen kann. Dazu wird in einem ersten Schritt der bisherige Verlauf der Reformgeschichte der Vereinten Nationen nachvollzogen und hinsichtlich des Untersuchungsgegenstands ausgewertet. Den analytischen Schwerpunkt der Arbeit bilden zwei Fallanalysen, in denen die Debatte um die Reform der Menschenrechtskommission und des Weltsicherheitsrates im Verlauf der 60. Generalversammlung im Jahre 2005 betrachtet und hinsichtlich der zentralen Fragestellung untersucht werden wird. Dabei wird in Rckgriff idealistischer, konstruktivistischer und vor allem realistischer Theorien der internationalen Beziehungen nachgewiesen werden, dass Afrika zwar einen signifikanten Einfluss auf den Reformverlauf nehmen konnte, seine Interessen aber nur zu einem vergleichsweise geringen Teil durchsetzen konnte.
