Seit dem Ende der OstWest Konfrontation gab es eine globale Machtverschiebung, mit der Konsequenz, dass die Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika als die einzige Supermacht verblieben. Parallel dazu gewannen anderen Staaten an Einfluss und wiederum andere verloren an Einfluss. In der Geschichte gab es schon immer eine Differenzierung zwischen Gro und Mittelmchten sowie das Bestreben danach, Machthierarchien im internationalen System zu deklarieren. Zu Zeiten der Globalisierung kann die USA als einzige Supermacht nicht mehr alle Probleme allein lsen; sie braucht Kooperationspartner in den verschiedenen Regionen der Welt. Findet sie einen diesen Kooperationspartner in der Trkei? Das Ziel der folgenden Arbeit soll darin bestehen, das Konzept der regionalen Fhrungsmacht vorzustellen, und dieses anhand der Trkei zu prfen. Dementsprechend habe ich die Arbeit folgendermaen aufgebaut: der Einleitung folgt eine kurze Darstellung der innenpolitischen Lage in der trkischen Republik seit dem Amtsantritt der AKPRegierung 2002. Anschlieend wird in Kapitel 3 umfassend auf die Auenpolitik eingegangen, vor allem auf aktuelle Entwicklungen. Dazu wird das Konzept der strategischen Tiefe von Auenminister Davutoglu vorgestellt. Zudem werden die Beziehungen mit einzelnen wichtigen Nachbarstaaten, Regionen und anderen wichtigen Akteuren wie den USA und der EU dargestellt. Anschlieend prfe ich in Anlehnung an den Kriterien von Detlef Nolte in Kapitel 5, ob und inwieweit man von der Trkei als regionale Fhrungsmacht sprechen kann oder ob es noch andere Konzepte gibt, in die die Trkei sich einordnen lsst.
