Dabei ist die Ausdrucksweise in diesem Teil des Alten Testaments so drastisch, dass sie schwerer ubergangen oder wegerklart werden kann, als dies bei anderen Teilen der Bibel der Fall ist. Es gehort zum Wesen JHWHs, dass er Heil und Unheil schafft. Die vorliegende Arbeit bringt in ihrem ersten Hauptteil eine Exegese der schwierigen Texte von der Verstockung Pharaos und will auf die Anregungen und Defizite aus der bisherigen Auslegungsgeschichte mit eigenen Untersuchungen und Antworten reagieren. Der zweite Hauptteil widmet sich der Auslegungsgeschichte. Es wird untersucht, wie die Ausleger mit ihren eigenen Widerstanden gegenuber dem Bibeltext umgegangen sind. Der Begriff Auslegung wird breit aufgefasst, sodass unterschiedliche Textsorten berucksichtigt werden konnen. Gerade auch homiletische Texte sind beachtenswert, weil hier die Relevanz der biblischen Aussagen fur spatere Generationen besonders deutlich wird.
