Die Wettbewerbsfhigkeit internationaler Finanzzentren ist eine in der Praxis hufig diskutierte und aktuelle Problematik, die genhrt wird durch die zunehmende Konkurrenz unter den einzelnen Pltzen und die wachsende Bedeutung des Finanzsektors fr die Gesamtwirtschaft. Die Ergebnisse der Diskussion und die daraus abgeleiteten Handlungsbedrfnisse sind geprgt durch die Interessen der einzelnen am Finanzmarkt agierenden Gruppen. Die vorliegende Arbeit versucht, einen klrenden Beitrag zu dieser Diskussion und zur Bestimmung des Untersuchungsobjektes zu leisten. Dieses geschieht mittels einer theoretischen Modellbildung zur Wettbewerbsfhigkeit eines internationalen Finanzplatzes. Das so entwickelte Modell wird dann in einer sachlichanalytischen Betrachtung unter Einbeziehung ausgewhlter Ausgestaltungen an anderen Finanzpltzen auf den Finanzplatz Frankfurt bezogen. Ergnzt werden die dort gewonnen Erkenntnisse durch eine empirische Untersuchung.
