Frankfurts Ansicht nach muss dem missverstandenen und missbrauchten Begriff >Person< wieder mehr Gehr verschafft werden, weshalb er sich damit beschftigt, dieses Wort im philosophischen Sinne zu ergrnden und dessen Eigenschaften herauszufiltern. Denn hierbei, laut Frankfurt, handelte es sich nicht um die Unterscheidung der Mitglieder der eigenen Spezies von denen anderer Arten, wie es in der Biologie der Fall sei. Er ist der Meinung, dass (...) ein wesentlicher Unterschied zwischen Personen und anderen Kreaturen in der Struktur des Willens einer Person zu finden(...)' sei. Deshalb untersucht er in dem Kapitel Willensfreiheit und der Begriff der Person aus seinem Werk Freiheit und Selbstbestimmung die Willensstruktur derjenigen, die wir als Personen bezeichnen drfen, und die derjenigen, die wir eben nicht so nennen drfen. Somit analysiert er die Struktur von Wunschzustnden, wobei er ein Modell von hherstufigen Wnschen verwendet, und stellt fest, welche notwendigen Eigenschaften dieses Modells eine Person besitzen muss. Auf Grundlage dieser Ausfhrungen spricht er anschlieend ber seine Definition von Willensfreiheit und der damit verbundenen moralischen Verantwortlichkeit. Ich werde Frankfurts Stellung herausarbeiten und prfen, ob seine Erluterungen einerseits fr mich, und andererseits in sich schlssig sind. Zunchst werde ich untersuchen, welche Willensstruktur man, laut Frankfurt, besitzen muss, um seiner Meinung nach als Person (oder nicht als Person) gelten zu knnen.
