Die vorliegende Arbeit bietet eine Zusammenstellung und Auswertung aller seit 1900 im deutschsprachigen Raum erschienenen Autobiographien von Dienstmdchen. Dem Selbstbildnis der Betroffenen wird das Dienstbotenbild in der Literatur um 1900 gegenbergestellt. Die Analyse zeigt, wie die Wahrnehmung des Dienstverhltnisses und des Dienstboten auf herrschaftlicher Seite mit einer stndigen Verzeichnung einhergeht und wie auf subtile Art die Dominanz der Herrschaftsseite hervortritt.About the AuthorDie Autorin: Karin Pauleweit wurde 1958 in Wolfenbttel geboren. Sie studierte Germanistik und Franzsisch an der Freien Universitt Berlin. Seit 1980 ist sie im Bibliothekswesen ttig.
