El marco terico de esta investigacin esta inmerso dentro de la Neuropsicologa Cognitiva. Apraxia se define como la dificultad o imposibilidad de realizar correctamente movimientos proposicionales aprendidos como consecuencia de una lesin cerebral, en ausencia de trastornos elementales (De Renzi, 1990). Dado que las alteraciones praxicas generan dificultad para el uso de herramientas y la produccin y comprensin de gestos, estas podran ser una de las funciones cognitivas que estara influyendo en la vida cotidiana. A pesar de ello la revisin de la literatura realizada demuestra que no se conoce con exactitud si existe y cul es el grado de relacin entre ambas. El objetivo es estudiar si las apraxias repercuten en la vida cotidiana de los pacientes con enfermedad de Alzheimer probable. Se evaluaron 50 pacientes del Laboratorio de Deterioro Cognitivo del Hospital Interzonal de Agudos Eva Pern CONICET. Los resultados obtenidos apoyan la hiptesis de que la presencia de apraxia en pacientes con demencia repercuten en la vida cotidiana aumentando la dependencia. Estos hallazgos refuerzan la importnacia del diagnstico y estudio de las praxias y sus alteraciones.
