This book contains a written documentation of the process of directing a main season theatrical production in fulfillment of the requirements for Master in Fine Arts at the University of NebraskaLincoln. This work is comprised of nine chapters that analyze the directorial process. The preliminary chapters deal primarily with personal history, script selection, research, script analysis and concept. The majority of the text is devoted to the compiled emails and varied journal entries maintained during the creation of the production. The final chapter is an overall evaluation of the process and the final product. This is not just a thesis on the process and culmination of one single production, but a thesis on a personal and formal educational process in the theatre arts. It is a private reflection that discusses and examines the artistic choices one can make. It examines a journey through university learning and subsequent professional training and the creativity gained during the process.
