Die vorgeschlagenen nderungen haben tief greifende Folgen fr Ersteller und Nutzer von Abschlssen nach IFRS. Ziel der vorliegenden Arbeit ist es, das Diskussionspapier einer kritischen Wrdigung zu unterziehen. Hierzu werden folgende Forschungsfragen behandelt: 1) Welche Anforderungen stellen Investoren an Rechnungslegungsinformationen? 2) Welche nderungen sieht das Diskussionspapier fr die Darstellung der Abschlsse vor? 3) Erfllen die vorgeschlagenen nderungen die Anforderungen der Investoren? Antworten auf diese Fragen knnen helfen, mgliche Schwachpunkte in den Ausfhrungen des Diskussionspapiers zu finden. Dadurch knnten den Standardsetzern Verbesserungsvorschlge fr die geplanten nderungen aufgezeigt werden. Die Untersuchung ist wie folgt aufgebaut: In Kapitel zwei wird betrachtet, inwieweit Rechnungslegung eine Informationsfunktion fr den Kapitalmarkt erfllt. Hierzu werden theoretische, empirische und experimentelle Nachweise diskutiert. Des Weiteren werden auf deduktiver Basis die rechnungslegungsbezogenen Informationsbedrfnisse der Investoren abgeleitet. In Kapitel drei werden die vorgeschlagenen nderungen zur Darstellung der Abschlsse prsentiert und aufbauend auf den Erkenntnissen aus Kapitel zwei und drei werden in Kapitel vier die vorgeschlagenen nderungen einer kritischen Analyse unterzogen. Es wird geprft, inwieweit die vorgeschlagenen nderungen den Anforderungen der Investoren entsprechen. Im Rahmen der kritischen Wrdigung des Diskussionspapiers wird auerdem aufgezeigt welche Konsequenzen die vorgeschlagenen nderungen fr die bilanzierenden Unternehmen mit sich bringe
