In diversen Formen und Ausfhrungen ist er schon berall zu Tage getreten und hat unzhlige Opfer gefordert, immer mit einem Ziel und einem Plan im Hintergrund. Am 11. September 2001 jedoch ist der Terrorismus erstmals in einer so erschreckenden Form in Erscheinung getreten, dass die ganze Welt erschttert wurde. Zeitungen berichteten von einem neuen Zeitalter', einem weltweiten Terrorismus', ja sogar von einer neuen Art von Krieg. Die Anschlge auf das World Trade Center und das Pentagon in Washington, bei denen ber 3000 Menschen ums Leben kamen, stellten eine neue Dimension des Terrorismus dar und wurden so zum Anlass einer Flut von Berichten, Reportagen und Kommentaren in den Medien, die um die ganze Welt gingen. Noch lange nach der Katastrophe' beschftigte das Thema die Medien, sodass es auch genau ein Jahr spter den Titel vieler Zeitschriften zierte. Immer wieder tauchte dabei der Begriff des Terrorismus' auf und mit ihm, teilweise synonym verwendet, auch der Begriff des Islamismus'. In dieser Hausarbeit soll die Berichterstattung ber den 11. September in einem eingeschrnkten Textkorpus und Zeitraum Gegenstand der Untersuchungen sein, wobei die Darstellung des Islamismus immer im Vordergrund stehen soll. Aus welchem Blickwinkel wurde berichtet, worber wurde berichtet und welches Bild des Islamismus wurde vermittelt, beziehungsweise wie wurde der Begriff berhaupt verwendet und ausgelegt? Zum Zwecke dieser Analyse sollen zunchst die Definitionen der Begriffe Terrorismus' und Islamismus' geklrt und die Hintergrnde kurz zusammengefasst werden. Daraufhin wird der Ra
