Dabei wurden neben den Begrndungsproblemen in der neueren Diskussion vor allem die Anwendungsprobleme als methodische Herausforderung empfunden. In diesem Buch werden erstmals die verschiedenen Versionen und Varianten der Diskursethik, von den ersten Arbeiten der siebziger Jahre bis hin zur Gegenwart, systematisiert, verglichen und auf ihre spezifischen Leistungen hin untersucht: Vor welchen Begrndungs und Anwendungsproblemen steht die Diskursethik, auf welche von ihnen wollten die jeweiligen Autoren reagieren, und schlielich: Haben sie eine berzeugende Antwort gefunden? Aus der Vergewisserung ber die (unverkrzten) Aufgaben einer Diskursethik und der Durchsicht der Begrndungsprobleme der bisherigen Versionen heraus wird vorgeschlagen, die Diskursethik als ein ""kognitivistisches Rahmenkonzept"" zu verstehen, welches normativ unterschiedlich stark gefat werden kann und das den Rahmen fr jedweden Versuch darstellt, praktische Fragen ber Grnde zu entscheiden. Auch die meisten philosophischen Ethiken, die gewhnlich der Diskursethik entgegengesetzt werden, setzen diese daher in einer mehr oder weniger starken Fassung voraus.
