Rmulo Gallegos is best known for being Venezuelas first democratically elected president. I enjoyed 'Barbara', but I found some parts a bit slow. The premise is interesting, and the themes are relatable, but it took me a while to really get into it. Definitely a solid read if you have the patience for it.
