USMC/USMCR/USNR Douglas A4A/B Skyhawks is the companion volume to Naval Fighters Number FortyNine, the Douglas A4A/B Skyhawk in Navy Service. This Navy volume contains 61 pages of development, aircraft description details and drawings that pertain to Marine A4A/Bs.Although far fewer Marine squadrons were equipped with the A4A/Bs than Navy squadrons, the type still saw extensive usage by 14 active duty Marine squadrons. The aircraft were ultimately assigned to 14 Navy and Marine reserve bases.
