We become afraid if life doesn't happen our way, we want to fix it ourselves. We turn to religion instead of relationship to avoid hearing from God and doing His will. II Timothy 3:17 says 'This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves...having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins...ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.' I could write a book on just these seven verses. When we become full of pride and religion instead of being full of humility and relationship we become easily drawn into sin and then left holding the bag. Down Again will help you recover.
