Perceptual drawing, in which one renders the physical world as it appears to an observer, is the focus of this new text for the introductory drawing course. Drawing from Observation offers a balanced mix of handson technique and perceptual theory while making a compelling argument for the longterm value of studying perceptionbased drawing.

I just started exploring drawing, and this book is such a great guide. The tips on perceptual drawing really helped me notice details I usually overlook. It's laid out clearly, making it easy to follow along. Perfect for anyone wanting to improve their skills!

Disappointed with the content
I had high hopes for this book, but it didn't meet my expectations. The explanations were vague, and I found myself frustrated trying to apply the lessons. It may work for some, but for me, it just didn’t cut it. Looking for something better.

Helpful but needs more examples
Drawing from Observation provides solid insights into perceptual drawing, but I wish it had more visual examples to illustrate the concepts. I still learned a lot and improved my technique, but some sections felt a bit sparse. Definitely a good read for artists looking to refine their skills!
