Teil I: Luna Regia Noctis Der Mond erscheint, und kurzfristig tritt er eine stillruhige, sternfunkelnde, klare Art der Nachterrschaft ber die Milchstrae an (Luna regia noctis ascendig sedem coeli): fester, starker, unbeirrbarer, aber gleichzeitig "lyrisch"ruhiger Charakter der Musik, welche in eine sich steigernde Fuge einmndet. Teil II: Crebris Micat Ignibus Aether Die ruhige Nachtherrschaft des Mondes wird unterbrochen durch den herannahenden Sturm, der die Milchstrae auslscht und der von den Gewalten des Donners und des Blitzes begleitet wird. Die musikalische und inhaltliche Beschreibung der Naturgeister verwandelt sich von stiller und ernster Ruhe zum erbarmungslosen Kampfeswillen. Teil III: Sol Spiritus Vitae Der dritte Teil beschreibt die Herrschaft des Licht und SonnenGeists. Der ernste und feste, aber ruhige musikalische Beginn, der von einem jener unvergleichlich machtvollen musikalischen Grundthemen dieses Werkes beseelt wird, bestimmt den Charakter dieses dritten Teils, welcher gegen Ende im Sinne einer Kulmination in eine ekstatische und macht und lichtberauschte DreifachFuge mndet. Der Ausklang dieser Hymne an den Licht Lebens und Herrschergeist der Sonne bezieht sich wieder auf das quasi "lyrische" Mittelthema, welches harfenbegleitet die Beschreibung des mchtigen und lichten Sonnenherrschers zu Ende fhrt.
