This book clarifies and discusses psychiatric diagnosis with a particular focus on how diagnoses have evolved from DSM5. The cases are followed by a discussion by an expert clinician, who describes an approach to diagnosis through an exploration of psychiatric and personal history, symptom clusters, laboratory tests, and clinical ambiguities.

Honestly, I was a bit disappointed with this purchase. Some of the cases were repetitive, and I expected more in-depth analysis. It’s okay, but I wouldn’t say it’s essential for my work as a therapist.

Invaluable Resource for Students
As a graduate student in psychology, I found the DSM-5-TR Clinical Cases to be super helpful. The cases are well-structured and give real-world context to the diagnostic criteria. Plus, it’s very readable, which is a relief!

Essential for My Practice
This book is a must-have for any mental health professional. The cases are clearly laid out and very informative. I love how the book helps in understanding complex diagnoses. Worth every penny!

Good but Needs More Diversity
I appreciated the clinical cases in this book, but I wish there were more diverse examples. Some of the scenarios felt a bit outdated. It’s still a decent resource, but it could be better!
