SHAINDY is a twelveyearold Orthodox Jewish girl who struggles in school and has no good friends. She watches with envy as her nextdoor neighbor, GAYIL, excels socially and academically. They have little to do with each other, and it comes as a surprise when Shaindy looks out her window one September evening and sees Gayil staring out at her from her own window with a sign reading want to know a secret? The secret (at first) is that Gayil has a key fob that will allow them to break into their school after hours. Together, they set up a harmless prank in their classroom. But under Gayils instigation the mischief becomes malice, and Shaindy sees that the pranks and humiliations are targeted only at certain girls. But what could they have in common? With the fear of Gayils fury and her own reluctance growing, Shaindy comes to the terrifying conclusion that if she cant figure out how to stop it, the next target could be her.

I thought this book would be full of creative ideas, but some of the pranks seem a bit outdated and not as funny. Still, there are a few gems in there that had us cracking up, so it’s not a total loss. Just wish there were more fresh ideas!

I gifted this to my brother who loves pulling pranks during family gatherings. He loves it! The ideas are silly but entertaining, and he’s already made a couple of our relatives laugh (or scream!). It’s a fun addition to our family dynamic.

Honestly, I was a bit disappointed with this book. Some of the pranks require way too much setup, and a couple just didn’t land well with my friends. It’s got a few good bits, but not every prank hit the mark for us.

A Fun Read, But Some Missed Opportunities
This book is fun and offers a lot of laughs, but I felt a few pranks could have been explained better. I had to guess some of the setups. Still, it’s a light read and good for a few chuckles, especially if you love pranks!
