One of the worlds most distinguished astrophysicists presents a comprehensive theoretical treatment of the dynamical evolution of globular clusters. Lyman Spitzers research in this field established the framework for decades of investigation. Now he summarizes in a unified, systematic way this branch of theoretical astrophysics with its still challenging problems.Originally published in 1988.The Princeton Legacy Library uses the latest printondemand technology to again make available previously outofprint books from the distinguished backlist of Princeton University Press. These editions preserve the original texts of these important books while presenting them in durable paperback and hardcover editions. The goal of the Princeton Legacy Library is to vastly increase access to the rich scholarly heritage found in the thousands of books published by Princeton University Press since its founding in 1905.

This book is informative and filled with useful data, but I found some parts to be a bit dense. If you're not already familiar with the basics of globular clusters, you might struggle a bit. Still, I appreciate the effort put into the Princeton series!

Not What I Expected
I was hoping for more practical applications in the book, but it reads more like a textbook than a guide. It’s well-researched, but I was disappointed that it didn’t cater to a more general audience. If you’re not deep into astrophysics, steer clear!

A Deep Dive into Astrophysics
As a graduate student, I found the insights in 'Dynamical Evolution of Globular Clusters' to be incredibly valuable. It breaks down complex topics in a way that really helps with my research. The Princeton series has always been top-notch in astrophysics, and this book is no exception!
