Between 1805 and 1820 many pioneers settled the newlyopened lands of central Georgia, but the lack of surviving records makes learning about these people difficult. Records have been lost and families had come and gone before the first surviving federal census was taken in 1820. Fortunately Pulaski County (which originally included most of presentday Dodge and Bleckley Counties) has not had a major loss of court records. There is a wealth of information in the early records, including thousands of names, hundreds of family relationships, where people lived, and even a few birth and death dates. This book is a transcription of all known extant court records, except deeds and tax lists, of Pulaski County from its formation in 1809 until 1817. Lists of jurors, administrators, executors, and guardians (which take up less space and usually provide more genealogical information) are included up until 1825. The index lists all references to persons by full name as well as crossreferences for spelling variations.
