Within a very vibrant, colourful (or even risky in security terms for some observers and critics) region as East Asia, numerous activities have drawn many attentions from observers, policy makers, businesspeople and participants for civil society movements, which have been flourished for decades, from within and without the region. What kind of activities have generated such attentions? This book illustrates that such activities covering both economic and political as well as sociocultural activities. These activities, easily observed in the 1990s when the region received more attentions due to many intersting events took places or emerged for the region whether there were ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF), AsiaEurope Meeting (ASEM), or the 1997 Financial Crisis.
