This is the history of East Lake from the days when transportation to the club was provided by street car through the years of upheaval when the No. 2 golf course was sold and the separation from the Atlanta Athletic Club was made. And, how the personal sacrifices of one man saved this club from oblivion so that those great traditions might endure. Bobby Jones and East Lake grew up together and became in the eyes of golf as one. Men of golf from around the world who have visited the United States have taken circuitous courses to find their way to Atlanta and to see for themselves this historic club that gave us the immortal Jones.
