Wolfe argues for a nonrepresentational conception of ecopoetics, showing how Stevenss poems reward study alongside theories of system, environment, and observation derived from a multitude of sources, from Ralph Waldo Emerson and Niklas Luhmann to Jacques Derrida and Stuart Kauffman.
