Now in its ninth edition, Economics and the Environment offers an accessible approach to the latest debates, concerns, standards, and legislation related to contemporary environmental issues. Featuring new and updated content throughout, this studentfriendly textbook organizes its discussion around four specific questions How much pollution is too much? Is the government up to the job? How can we do better? How can we resolve global issues? to provide an inclusive and highlyengaging examination of environmental economics.Following a unique fourquestion format, the text provides an integrated pedagogy that is simpler and more useful than a topics approach to the subject. Students are encouraged to discuss the governments role in environmental policy, the benefits and costs of environmental protection, methods for promoting clean technology and sustainability, global pollution and resource issues, environmental justice and ethics, and more. Throughout the text, illustrative examples and realworld case studies are complemented by endofchapter problems and exercises that both strengthen student comprehension and increase retention.

This book on economics and the environment is a treasure trove of information. I’m using it for my environmental economics course, and it’s packed with real-world examples that make complex theories easier to grasp. Definitely worth picking up if you're studying this field!

Didn’t Meet My Expectations
I was really looking forward to this book, but I was disappointed by some of the arguments presented. The writing felt a bit dry and not as engaging as I had hoped. I expected more practical examples.

Good Insights but Shipping Issues
The book itself is great and full of useful information, but I had a problem with the shipping. It took longer than expected to arrive. That said, I am enjoying the insights into how economic policies can affect our environment.

Great Resource but Dense Read
I found the content of this book to be quite informative, especially the sections on economic impacts of environmental policies. However, some chapters were really dense and a bit hard to get through. Still, it’s a valuable addition to my library.

Perfect for Students and Professionals
As a graduate student, I really appreciate how this book explains the intersection of economics and environmental issues. The case studies are relevant and thought-provoking. It’s a bit heavy on data, but it’s a great academic tool!
