La exposicin a hipoxia intermitente como mtodo de entrenamiento en altura se utiliza en deportistas y otras poblaciones para mejorar su rendimiento y calidad de vida. El objetivo de este estudio es comprobar la efectividad de un programa de IHE en ciclistas y en sujetos activos. Formaron parte del estudio 1, 8 sujetos activos (Edad:24,7aos; Talla:177cm; Peso:76,1Kg). En el estudio 2 participaron 11 ciclistas elite (Edad:27,3aos; Talla:176,9cm; Peso:73,5Kg). En ambos casos hubo grupo experimental y control. Se midieron variables hematolgicas y fisiolgicas a travs de una analtica sangunea, un test de composicin corporal un test de VO2max y uno de umbrales. En el estudio 1 se observa una tendencia al aumento de las variables hematolgicas medidas, un incremento en la potencia en el Uan y un descenso del VO2max. En el estudio 2 se mantienen todas las variables. Por lo tanto, el programa de IHE propuesto no afecta al rendimiento de los deportistas entrenados, pero si produce un aumento de los parmetros fisiolgicos medidos en sujetos activos.
