Leitner untersucht in ihrer historischen Studie, wie mit der zunehmenden Etablierung der Psychoanalyse als Heilberuf die Frage der richtigen Technik" einen immer wichtigeren Stellenwert einnahm, whrend es gleichzeitig immer schwieriger wurde, die damit zusammenhngenden Fragen offen zu diskutieren. Mit der Grndung der Berliner Poliklinik und des Berliner Psychoanalytischen Instituts wurden die Weichen fr die Institutionalisierung der psychoanalytischen Ausbildung gestellt, die bis heute das psychoanalytische Ausbildungssystem mit all seinen rigiden und infantilisierenden Momenten bestimmt.
