Product Description Das Bild, das sich die Physiker vom Elektron machen, hat sich mit der Entwicklung der modernen Physik entsprechend gendert. Anhand dieser nderung wird gezeigt, da die Physik nicht nur trockener und starrer Formelkram ist, sondern da sich hinter den Formeln eine phantastische und bizarre Welt verbirgt. Um die Natur und deren Erscheinungen nur einigermaen zu begreifen, ist sehr viel Phantasie notwendig. Hinter den Erscheinungen tut sich eine wundersame Welt auf, eine Welt voller Wunder keine spirituelle oder magische Welt sondern eine Welt, die in ihrer Realitt viel wundersamer ist als alle metaphysischen Gedankengebude. Man stellte sich anfangs das Elektron als kleine elektrostatisch geladene Kugel vor. Mit der Entwicklung der Relativittstheorie geriet man damit in Schwierigkeiten. Die Quantentheorie konnte einige dieser Schwierigkeiten berwinden, allerdings auf Kosten der Anschaulichkeit. Aus der Kugel wurde eine diffuse Wolke. Die Merkwrdigkeiten des Elektrons zeigen sich insbesondere in der Beugung am Doppelspalt. Das Bild des Elektrons wird immer unklarer, die Gestalt lst sich auf in unanschauliche Begriffe, bis es schlielich auch seine Identitt verliert. Gleichzeitig erscheinen einige seiner Gesellen, das Positron und das Photon, die ebenfalls sonderbare Eigenschaften zeigen. Auf diese Weise wird ber den Bogen vom Elektron als Kugel bis zur Auflsung seiner Identitt die zugehrige Physik in anschaulicher und lockerer Art dargestellt. Das Bchlein ist kein Lehrbuch der Physik; es berhrt auch nur einige wenige Aspekte der Physik, aber diese behandeln zum Teil tiefgreifende Probleme, mit denen sich die Physiker und auch frhe Philosophen schon seit Generationen beschftigen und die verstndnismig einen Groteil der heutigen Physik betreffen. Das Bchlein wendet sich sowohl an den Physiker, der vielleicht seine Freude an dem einen oder anderen Gedankengang haben mge, als auch vor allem an den Laien ich denke dabei vor allem an meine Frau, d About the Author Lebenslauf: Dr. Christian Holzapfel, geb. 1937 in Dnemark, Schulbesuch in Kopenhagen und in Linz an der Donau, hat nach dem Studium der Physik in Frankfurt am Main fast 40 Jahre als Physiker auf den verschiedensten Gebieten (Plasmaphysik, Biophysik, Meteorologie und Klimaforschung, Energieforschung) im Forschungszentrum Jlich, frher Kernforschungsanlage Jlich, und ein Jahr an der Michigan State University in East Lansing, Mich. USA, gearbeitet. Seit Mrz 2002 ist er Rentner. Neben seiner Hauptttigkeit hat er sich auch immer mit den Grundlagen der Physik beschftigt und aus dieser Erfahrung dieses Bchlein zusammengestellt.
