Da die betriebswirtschaftlichen Probleme des Bankbetriebs losgelOst weder von der Kundenund Geschiiftsstruktur eines Kreditinstituts noch von der Kreditorganisation einer Volkswirtschaft behandelt werden konnen, erschien es angesichts der zwischen diesen Bereichen bestehenden Verflechtungen unumgiinglich, in die Darstellung auch die Struktur und die Grundprobleme unseres Banksystems miteinzubeziehen, deren Kenntnis fur die Untersuchung der Wettbewerbsstellung einer Bank oder Bankengruppe ebenso notwendig ist wie fur die Beurteilung der Zweckmiijjigkeit unseres Banksystems. Wegen der Vielfalt der bankbetrieblichen Probleme sah sich der Verfasser gezwungen, Schwerpunkte zu setzen und aUf die Erorterung mancher interessanten Detailfrage zu verzichten. 1m ersten Kapitel werden die strukturellen Besonderheiten des Betriebstyps 'Bank' behandelt; dabei wird vor allem aUf die noch immer unzureichend erforschten Zusammenhiinge im technischorganisatorischen Bereich einge gang en. Das zweite Kapitel gibt einen gedriingten Vberblick uber die Struktur, die Strukturwandlungen und die voraussichtlichen Entwicklungstendenzen unse res Bankwesens. Das dritte Kapitel ist den Grundfragen der Bankpolitik gewidmet. Dabei wird im Rahmen der Gewinnpolitik dem Bankmarketing besondere Auf merksamkeit geschenkt.
