Ich hatte die Aufgabe, Studenten der Naturwissenschaften in die Vektorrechnung einzufUhren. Meine Lehrtatigkeit hat mich iiberzeugt, daB die Studenten anschlieBend an die Erlernung der Elemente der Differentialund Integralrechnung in die Vektor rechnung eingefUhrt werden soHen. Dementsprechend werden in diesem Buch Grund begriffe der Differentialund Integralrechnung vorausgesetzt. Ich folge der Methode meiner Vorlesungen, die Begriffe der Vektorrechnung an Bei spielen aus den Naturwissenschaften zu entwickeln und ihre praktische Brauchbarkeit sogleich durch wichtige Anwendungen zu zeigen. Diese Gliederung des Stoffes bringt es mit sich, daB oft ein und dasselbe naturwissenschaftliche Problem an mehreren SteHen behandelt wird.
