Auf St. Pauli gab es bis 1996 das Hafenkrankenhaus, das vorwiegend fr die medizinische Versorgung von Festgenommenen diente. Es gab also ein Miteinander zwischen rzten und Polizisten sozusagen das Drehbuch fr Notruf Hafenkante". Auch heute sind Streifen und Rettungswagen oft gemeinsam am Einsatzort, wenn ein Notruf abgesetzt wird. Minuten entscheiden dann ber Leben und Tod ber die Festnahmen von Ttern. Das Polizeikommissariat 21 liegt direkt an der Hafenkante. Dabei handelt es sich um eine Uferlinie, die an Neumhlen beginnt, den St. Pauli Landungsbrcken vorbeifhrt und bis zur Speicherstadt und der neuen HafenCity reicht. Das Buch gibt Einzelheiten ber die Drehorte der Serie, beschreibt die Charaktere der Polizisten und rzte und stellt die Hauptdarsteller vor. Natrlich sind auch berhmte Gastdarsteller bercksichtigt: so standen schon Katja Studt, Rolf Becker, Nina Hoger, Mariella Ahrens oder beispielsweise Katy Karrenbauer vor der Kamera und wirkten in einzelnen Folgen mit.
