Juan Dumont (19232001), hispanista francs, infatigable autor, editor y director de ms de mil obras de historia, descubri importantes archivos espaoles inditos y es considerado en Espaa y Amrica como uno de los maestros de la historia hispnica de los siglos XVXVI. Sus obras, que no rehuyen los temas ms polmicos, han merecido grandes elogios de los especialistas ms autorizados de todo el mundo.
