Hay una revisin crtica de antecedentes y discusin de herramientas tericometodolgicas a partir de la lingstica cognitiva, el variacionismo y el anlisis de formacontenido de los signos. Sobre cuerpos de datos autnticos de San Juan y Buenos Aires (Argentina) y del CREA y CORDE (corpora electrnicos de la Real Academia Espaola), se realiza un anlisis cualitativo y cuantitativo de las ocurrencias encontradas. Segn la autora, el dequesmo distancia la predicacin de la clusula; un contexto microsintctico (clusula Objeto) da indicios de ello porque se defocaliza el objeto y disminuye el grado de transitividad. Estn en juego dos formas de distancia. Una enunciativa que se manifiesta en el tipo de sujeto y en el tiempo de la enunciacin, los que impactan conjuntamente sobre el tipo de acto de habla. Una distancia icnica se manifiesta en la extensin de los verbos, incisos y pausas que separan la clusula matriz de la completiva.
