La presente investigacin describe cmo se ve afectado el desempeo de los empleados sobrevivientes al recorte de personal, debido a la inseguridad percibida y asimismo el efecto que sta tiene sobre los comportamientos innovadores, las capacidades de aprendizaje y el compromiso organizacional de los mismos. La necesidad de investigar sobre este tema, se debe a la gran cantidad de recortes de personal que en los ltimos tiempos se han estado registrando en distintas empresas debido a la crisis econmica mundial que se est viviendo. En consecuencia, se estn viendo afectados los objetivos de productividad y rentabilidad de las empresas, y algunas de las estrategias a las que han recurrido son al despido de personal y eliminacin de servicios o productos que ofrecan al mercado. Debido a esta toma de decisiones drsticas por parte de la organizacin, se genera entre el personal que sobrevive a dicho recorte un sentimiento de preocupacin, incertidumbre y temor por no saber si los despidos de personal continuarn en la empresa y qu niveles alcanzarn.
