El objetivo de este libro es desarrollar un modelo (teora) sobre la Referencia del Significado (el signo lingstico). En este modelo lingstico, se ha intentado poner de relieve el papel central de las capacidades perceptivas, la imaginacin, la comprensin y la simbolizacin, as como la interaccin holstica de los cuatro componentes al mismo tiempo. Se hace hincapi en un campo de reflexin que no es habitual en los estudios tradicionales, tanto occidentales como rabes y se plantean nociones nuevas aprovechando los avances cientficos, especialmente en la fsica cuntica. Es un punto de partida para una filosofa nueva que relaciona todas las ciencias, y, que responde a las preguntas que perturban a los lingistas actualmente. Se ha aplicado este modelo al significado de las preposiciones espaolas y rabes, facilitando la difcil tarea tanto a profesionales de la enseanza como a estudiantes de cualquier lengua.
