About the Author Hctor Tizn (19292012) fue abogado, diplomtico en Mxico y Espaa y juez en Jujuy, su provincia natal. Su obra ha sido traducida al francs, ingls, ruso, polaco y alemn. En 2008 public las memorias El resplandor de la hoguera (Alfaguara) y en 2012 su ltimo libro : Memorial de la Puna (Alfaguara). Ha recibido, entre otros, los premios Konex, Academia Na cional de las Letras, Consagracin y el Gran Premio 2000 del Fondo Nacional de las Artes. En 1996 fue condecorado con el ttulo de Caballero de la Orden de las Artes y las Letras por el gobierno de Francia. Es uno de los ms grandes narradores contemporneos e n lengua espaola.
