Y tal como el nefito que al comienzo ve en esas cartas, aparte de las calidades, una multitud de aspectos negativos para despus poco a poco, a medida que va desentraando sus smbolos, llegar a verlas en su belleza sublime, as present a mis veintids artistas: al comienzo, borrachos contumaces, dbiles, confusos, ajenos a s mismos y a la realidad; luego, por necesarios azares, enfrentados con la miseria de su pas, convertidos en annimos payasos; despus, en fugitivos; y por fin en hroes, que llegan a una iluminacin (en el sentido de realizacin espiritual) que no buscaban pero que los aguardaba como ineludible meta. La primera de ellas, la psicogenealoga, sirvi de base para su novela Donde mejor canta un pjaro y la segunda, la psicomagia, fue utilizada por Jodorowsky en El nio del jueves negro.
